The life of a student-athlete is never easy. As a track athlete and political science criminal justice double major, Kai Doyle knows this very well. She’s been running since she was in 5th grade, and jumping since she was in highschool. Though she loves the 400m, her best event is Triple jump. With marks in the 11’s and a conference victory under her belt, she is capable and ready to face adversity.

Occasionally, Doyle competes in the long jump in order to better her triple jump. She has consistent trouble with her 2nd phase, however she is never one to back down from a challenge. At the Cole Piper Memorial track meet, she came 3rd in long jump and 1st in Triple.

Doyle recently took the LSAT, which is a rigorous test required to enter law school. The test is largely compiled of logic and theory questions.

She keeps a calendar with track meets, tests, events, and goals for the month. “It’s important to set short term goals, even if you never reach them.” Doyle said, “You have to have something to shoot for.”

Triple jump has 4 crucial phases. The run up, the hop, the step, and the jump. All phases are important for a jumper to excel in their event. Although Doyle has trouble with her phases, and it not uncommon for her to foul attempts, she is more than capable of greatness. If life is a jump, then she is quite ready to take off.
