Stress Relief: A Photo Story

Stress impacts every student differently, especially as the end of the semester comes in more quickly than expected. Final exams and final projects start to pile up one-by-one to a point where it all feels like it will never end. Junior mass communications major Madison Gott gives insight on how stress impacts her and how she ca during these times. “Stress impacts me not only mentally, but physically,” she said. “Thankfully I have a really good support system here at Piedmont that helps me through all the craziness.”

Madison Gott recently had to finish prototyping a streaming service for her graphic design class. It was one of the more time consuming assignments from this semester so she spent a lot of free time in the graphic design lab.

“Due to the limbic system, stress can really weigh me down and affect my productivity when it comes to my school work,” said Gott.

After hearing that the mobile petting zoo was on campus, an impromptu decision was made to put her work aside and pet some of the animals.

Each semester during finals, CAB and other organizations on campus try to provide events that can help find students, like Madison Gott, ways to cope with everything going on during class.

“I definitely feel like this helped me forget about the work I had to do temporarily,” said Gott. “My favorite animal was the bunny.”

Gott stayed with the animals for a little while, but unfortunately she had to go back to work on her final project for her graphic design class.

“Finals week can be a struggle, but it’s important to take care of your mental health as well,” said Gott. “It’s okay to step away for a minute or two to enjoy moments like these.”
