Women’s Tennis Conference Practice

On Wednesday, April 24th, the women’s tennis team was practicing the day before the Conference Championship. Every one of the girls has worked hard all year, and they have proved it on the court. Trey Martin, coach for the women’s tennis team, has led the lady lions to winning 2 Conference Championships. For this year they are hoping for a 3 peat of rings.

Sarah Row, a sophomore on the team, practicing her doubles with Dannie Evans. The power doubles team makes a great comeback during practice.

Also practicing doubles, Drea Robinson and Daisha Thompson, had a great time playing doubles together. They both seemed excited for their first time playing in the Conference Championship.

The tennis ball in the close-up shot, was hit by Lexi Washburn during her singles match against Chloe Wenzel. Lexi was able to hit a cross-court shot with the tennis ball, giving her a point in her match.

Near the end of practice, the girls switched partners for doubles and played for 30 more minutes of practice. They had some good rallies and points to end practice well.

Trey talks to the girls at the end of practice to explain what the Conference Tournament will be like. He also talks about what he expects from the girls for the tournament as well.

At the end of practice, the lady lions always break down practice with a chant. Sarah Row, leads the lions to the chant to end the last day of practice till the tournament.
