Arturo starts off his training for the day by taking a couple of warm-up shots and simulating some in-game moves to get his blood moving.
Trying to balance the student-athlete life as a freshman is not easy but Arturo Overton makes it look easy. Arturo is a Freshman business major who is originally from South Carolina, and he revolves most of his life mainly around school and basketball.
This photo is more than a basketball it is a symbolization of the peace it brings Arturo and whenever he needs to he can go to the gym to clear his mind, he can.
Arturo spends 4-5 days a week in the gym perfecting his craft to be game ready, so far this offseason he has been perfecting his craft so much that he has the sense of the ball going in the hoop before he even needs to see it hit the net
With being a student-athlete comes the stress of finals season. Arturo plans to study for his accounting exam to ensure that he scores a good grade to maintain his good GPA to finish out the semester.
With the chip on his shoulder of being a freshman playing collegiate sports, even off the court, Arturo strives to get better by watching his film and other teams’ films from around the conference. Arturo is working extra hard for the upcoming season as he will be battling for a starting point guard spot this fall.
Now close friend Artuto and freshman sports communication major Damyon Traylor battle out their competitive spirit out on the court. Arturo is trying to push Damyon into becoming a better basketball player as he strives to become a part of the Men’s Piedmont Basketball team
