The Disaster Drill took place March 19 at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the Loudermilk Field at Piedmont University. This year the drill was an active shooter drill, giving the law enforcement, first responders, nursing students and mass communications students an opportunity to practice what is needed to be done based on their designated roles if when an event like this happens.
The acting suspect was apprehended by Demorest Police officers. He was escorted off Loudermilk Field unharmed.
Piedmont University students categorized victims into colors, here is the red section. Nursing students are working on multiple patients at a time trying to get them to the hospital.
The student standing has a large laceration on her head while the student sitting has a gunshot wound to the head. Both head injuries, but only one is breathing.
