In chapter 7, the author goes in depth about the world of photo editing. I found it interesting how the author explain that a great photo editor doesn’t need to have skill with a camera. To me, that’s common sense. I really liked the section of comparing black-and-white photos vs. color. There are certain times that black-and-white are unnecessary, but most of the time it makes the photo so unique. The photo that Leslie put up of the little girl last week was beautiful. I think if she had kept it in color that it wouldn’t have had the same effect. I struggle with captions so reading the author say “The caption is the most read but least carefully written text in most publications,” was a relief to read. He also talks about the 5 W’s and H to include in the caption as we have talked about in class.
